A
Contrary View to Modern Methods
Lesson 1
Things
You May Have Been Told: Assume a
sitting position at address with the knees bent.
Answer: Tension is something every golfer is confronted
with in trying to make a smooth, rhythmic golf swing. When
a golfer assumes a knee bent sitting position he immediately
begins to create tension in his calves, thighs and lower back.
Assume this position and hold still for 60 seconds and you
will see what I mean. You'll soon straighten up and grab your
back.
At address stand with good posture in the same way you would
stand in everyday conversation. The legs aren't stiff but
straight and relaxed, free of tension. From there, simply
bend at the waist sufficiently for the club to reach the ground.
Avoid tension right in the beginning with good posture at
address.
